FitEdit fans,

FitEdit 7, released today, could be framed two ways:

• A reduction of features. I've removed the FitEdit API. You no longer sign in to FitEdit, and after you finish a workout, it won't automatically appear in FitEdit.
• An increase in privacy and reliability. FitEdit 7 is fully standalone. It no longer asks for your email address, and an installation of FitEdit now remains fully functional even if FitEdit's infrastructure shuts down.

Unchanged from before, FitEdit still syncs with Garmin and Strava using your web cookies. You install the FitEdit browser extension for (Chrome or Firefox), and it passes your Garmin and Strava web cookies directly to the desktop app running on the same computer.

Happy FIT file editing,
